Anti-Inflammatory Tea: Ginger & Turmeric

Ingredients
  

  • 2 knobs fresh ginger
  • 4–5 pieces fresh turmeric
  • 50.7 oz water 1.5L
  • 3 pinches black pepper
  • 1 stick cinnamon optional

Method
 

  1. Peel the ginger and turmeric.
  2. Cut the ginger and turmeric into medium slices or cubes.
  3. Add the ginger and turmeric (and the cinnamon stick if using) to a saucepan.
  4. Add the water.
  5. Bring the mixture to a boil.
  6. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
  7. Enjoy!

Notes

Turmeric can stain surfaces easily, always peel and chop on a cutting board. Black pepper enables the absorption of curcumin, the active substance in turmeric that reduces inflammation.
