Method
- Peel the ginger and turmeric.
- Cut the ginger and turmeric into medium slices or cubes.
- Add the ginger and turmeric (and the cinnamon stick if using) to a saucepan.
- Add the water.
- Bring the mixture to a boil.
- Let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
- Enjoy!
Notes
Turmeric can stain surfaces easily, always peel and chop on a cutting board. Black pepper enables the absorption of curcumin, the active substance in turmeric that reduces inflammation.
